Wakefield Unitarians (Westgate Chapel – Unitarian) in West Yorkshire have been running a project to discover and share the stories of the forgotten women of their community.
including: Ann Hurst, a newspaper proprietor who campaigned for the abolition of slavery;
Clara Clarkson, an early suffragist and Unitarian who rejected social conventions around class and gender;
and botanical artist Eliza Gleadall.
