Late Music Concert -1pm – 3 October 2026

LATE MUSIC CONCERT.
Saturday 3rd October 2026 at 1:00pm at York Unitarian Chapel, St Saviourgate, York YO1 8NQ
Federico Pendenza (guitar)
From William Walton’s only piece written for guitar (following a persuasive word from Julian Bream!) to two particularly intimate pieces by the “Chopin of the guitar” Agustín Barrios, and onto a world premiere by Noor Hingorani, drawing on the Persian Sofreh wedding ceremony, where Pomegranates represent joy, passion and strength.
And as we come to the final concert of the year, we also look back to the first, as you can now listen to the Obert Quartet’s journey from Death and the Maiden through a cave in France before arriving at some Skulls, Various courtesy of composers from the Northern Composers’ Network.Federico Pendenza (guitar)
