A Life In Service – 1927 to 1969 (By Susan Elliot)

My aunt started nursing in a fever hospital in Chippenham in 1927, and then worked in 5 more hospitals in London, including staying at her post all the way through WW2.

Her career took her eventually to the South London Hospital for Women and Children in Clapham, which was one of the ground-breaking hospitals of its kind, staffed by women.

She retired in 1969.

The book is 132 pages, A4, with photos, newspaper cuttings and prints.

The book is £20 per copy to include postage and can be purchased by emailing Susan at jandselliot@waitrose.com
