Mayor Visits Pepper Hill

Good Harvest Thanksgiving service at Pepper Hill Unitarian Chapel Shelf.

As has been the custom for a few years, we invited the Mayor of Calderdale to speak on his Mayor’s Charity for the Year.

This was for the Alzheimer’s Society, and following the service we held a sale of Harvest produce, and with a returning collection, raised a a respectable figure with will be sent to the Mayor’s Office.

This year’s Mayor, Councillor Chris Pillau, is a Hindu.

In a previous occasion we have welcomed a Mayor who is Muslim. Not bad, for a somewhat remote Moorland chapel!
