Due to the Government restrictions during the Coronavirus outbreak please find below details of what is currently happening in YUU chapels.
It has become clear that under the present circumstances we cannot continue to meet for Sunday worship. Services are cancelled with immediate effect.
We will of course resume services when it is safe to do so.
After much conversation we, the committee and myself, have decided to suspend our services for foreseeable future. We will be keeping track of advice and how things are progressing. This is a day to day situation.
If you would like to have someone to speak with, don’t hesitate to call the office, or myself.
Please remember to hold each other in your hearts, mind, spirit and in payer. Call and check in, use social media, and always let us know what is happening in your lives and the lives of those for whom you care.

Not currently open for services
Due to the global pandemic of Covid 19 We have taken the decision to CLOSE Scarborough Unitarian Church, for congregational worship and our social activities until further notice.
This is not a decision that we have not taken lightly and have considered many aspects of the impact that this virus could have on our congregation and as a place of worship. We have a duty of care to protect the vulnerable which has to be our first priority.
Closure of the Church for social events means that the monthly bingo nights and rental regular groups will also be suspended.
Obviously, this decision has been made with the best of intentions to protect the most vulnerable of people in our Church community.
We will do our best to keep everyone informed as to any developments as they progress.
This is an unprecedented decision that has been made. I and the rest of the committee have also taken into account people’s need for worship and potential increasing need for pastoral care and whilst people may find themselves in isolation for their own protection.
Please remember that you are not alone and that I encourage you all to keep in regular contact with friends, neighbours and other congregates via telephone, email and social media.
Closed until further notice
Business as usual
We regret Flowergate Chapel will be closed for the foreseeable future in line with government guidelines.
We sincerely hope we will be open again in the summer when we always look forward to welcoming visitors from near and far.
Warm wishes to all dear friends at this difficult and challenging time.
