“Taking Flight” weaves together a tapestry of works by female composers across the ages, with a common thread of birdsong. From the 12th century (Hildegard Von Bingen ) to the 21st century (Judith Weir), women have been writing for women. Celebrating works by several living composers (Joanna Sleight & Helen Neeves), as well as those who came before, this concert will feature highlights from several exquisite song cycles.
