Friday Lunchtime Concert – 22 May 2026

This week’s concert sees the return of Asuka Sumi, in the second instalment of her 3 concerts of Bach’s partitas for solo violin, matched with other music from the same era. Asuka Sumi, a baroque violin specialist, returns to perform the Partia series in which she explores Bach’s monumental three unaccompanied partitas in tandem with works by his predecessors.

The programme will include Bach’s Partita No.2 in d minor (with Chaconne) and works by Nicola Matteis Jr., Thomas Baltzar, and Johan Joseph Vilsmayr.
